We are looking for a senior full-stack engineer to join our hybrid tech team in Cape Town and expand our serverless web application. It’s a small flexible team, who care about outcomes rather than lines of code and you’ll have the freedom to build from scratch.

Responsibilities:

• Have a deep understanding of our customers’ pain points and figure out how to solve them in our product, building and implementing new features.
• Collaborate to ensure we follow best practices in software development and have a well designed secure system architecture.
• Share your software knowledge and help the team reach their full potential.

Technical Stack:

• Front-End: TypeScript with React, hosted in AWS Amplify.
• Back-End: TypeScript deployed on AWS Lambda functions using serverless configurations.
• Database: MongoDB.
• Task Management: SQS queues for task handling.

Experience and Skills:

• Deep understanding of the AWS best practices and how to implement them.
• Proficient in TypeScript, React, and serverless architectures.
• Experience with MongoDB and SQS.
• Strong understanding of best practices in software development and security.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Background and Personality:

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Enjoy working in small, close-knit teams.
• Top-notch communication skills, able to communicate with technical and non-technical people.
• Highly confident with a low ego and always eager to learn and improve.
• Capable of making data-driven decisions.
• You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in delivering high quality work.
